My Heart for a Horse

Travis Andersen

My kingdom eludes me, always has.
But yes, my heart…
My heart for a horse.
My heart for dusk.
Sober dusk.
Bird dusk.
Dusk you off.
My heart for what's off.
Called off.
My heart for the call.

Travis Andersen's verse has appeared in The American Drivel Review, The Lightning Bell, and Ringer. His play "White Widow" premiered at the Blue Sphere Alliance in March of 2003. Andersen has an MFA in Acting from Catholic University.
